Time

For you to really enjoy your bath, you should set an adequate time frame. You should have enough time to soak and enjoy your bath. Remember that rushing through your bath is neither fun nor is it relaxing because you will only end up stressed especially when you spent too much time and you are running late.

If you want to soak in the tub for two hours, then spare two or more hours for your bath. Ideally, a relaxing bath should be done before going to bed. When you are relaxed before you go to bed, you will be able to sleep better as compared to sleeping when you are rather stressed.

Preparation

The next thing you should consider is preparing the area. A messy bathroom will not help you relax, so before you do anything clean up the bathroom first.

In addition, run your bath up to the temperature that is suitable for you. It should neither be too hot nor too cold. In other words it should be warm enough for you to soak in it without burning yourself and it should not be too cold for you to end up shivering while soaking in it.

Distractions

If you want to really enjoy your bath and be able to relax, the number of distractions should be reduced. For example, turn off your cellphone so that you will be able to concentrate more on relaxing rather than worrying about who will call you.

Other than that, it would be better to take relaxing baths when no one is around or when almost everyone is asleep. Distractions can only stress you especially if they are about work, family and unfortunate events.

Atmosphere

Once you clear all the possible distractions, it is time to set the atmosphere. If you have been to spas, you will notice how different the atmosphere is there as compared to the atmosphere outside.

You don’t really have to go to a spa in to be able experience that kind of atmosphere because you can have that kind of ambiance right in your own bathroom. All you have to do is to gather the necessary materials in order to create the needed feel. Some of these materials include scented candles, flowers, stones and probably some incense.

You can arrange the materials in whichever way you want either lining the deck of the tub with rose petals, placing a group of stones on one corner or a group of scented candles on another corner. The incense and scented candles can help you relax and calm your senses as you soak in the tub.

Relax

When everything is set, all that is left for you is to open your mind, feel the atmosphere and relax. There are some relaxation breathing exercises that you can do while you are having your bath in order to help you relax even more. So while soaking, close your eyes and breathe evenly. It would also be better if you have an inflatable neck rest so you won’t strain your neck while soaking in the tub.
